Hi,
This is Dr. Esther Hess and I am so excited to be coming to New York City and the surrounding areas to present DIR/Floortime and Sensory Processing Disorder. For me, ‘Floortime is Real Time’ and this lecture promises to be an interactive, fun and practical application of intervention principles that you can learn about this week and put into practice in your homes, clinics, schools and office immediately!
Can’t wait to see you all,
-Esther B. Hess, Ph.D.

I too have found DIR workshops to be a wonderful resource in working with children with autism. Have any of you taken Dawn Heino’s course? I heard she is wonderful and she gives a two day course which covers even more material. The more the better!
Dr. Hess, I recently attended your course in Indianapolis in November. I am an occupational therapist as well as a mother of an 8 y.o w/ sensory processing disorder. I initiated some floortime with my daughter the next day with the whole family. We played the game Rummikub, which she got for Christmas and has been begging all of us to play w/ her. Sure enough her behavior has made a huge positive turn around as I have been incorporating more floor time w/ her. One of the most valuable pieces I learned was how important it was that I remain calm during her moments of sensory overload and inability to communicate her feelings. Your information is beneficial not only to children with developmental delays, but enriching information to share with all parents. Thank you so much, your class was just what I needed to hear as a therapist and parent. Sincerely, Jill Foley
Dr. Hess,
I have taken your seminar on DIR/Floortime and Sensory Processing Disorder. I am a physical therapist who also happens to have an almost 3 year old son who was given the diagnosis of PDD. I found the course to be extremely helpful in learning how to better relate to my son. He currently receives services at home and has been making huge gains in the areas of communication, social interactions, and play skills. He has made so much progress that they are even thinking that he may be more of a sensory processing disorder rather than PDD. It seems like his self-stimulatory behaviors are his main hurdles. I asked you during the course if it was accurate for someone to diagnose a child with PDD after a 45 minute evaluation and you explained how you thoroughly examine each child and family that you see. I felt like I have a better “handle” on how to better relate to my son Zach after attending your course. I look forward to taking another one of your seminars in the future.
